Coloring is a little bit more than just fun - it can reduce stress and anxiety and act as a form of active meditation.
Coloring has been one of my top coping mechanisms since my son was hospitalized in the ICU following his liver transplant. Through doodling and coloring, I was able to keep the faith and be hopeful that my son would come out on the other side well and the whole having experienced dire moments between life + death. Since then I have actively colored to meditate, reduce stress, and get lost for just a little bit. I sometimes can be found creating coloring pages as well as coloring them in myself.
